Who We Are – The Structure of Community Circles

Community Circles is a registered UK charity (Registered Charity Number 1163149)  that is supported by the HSA Foundation (Registered Charity Number 1125219), led by CEO Helen Sanderson. At the national level, the leadership team is responsible for developing strategic partnerships and delivering our vision of Community Circles happening across the UK.

The leadership team develops strategic relationships across the regions to promote and support Community Circles. It supports and learns from the Regional and local Community Circles Connectors. Each Regional Community Circles Connector supports twelve local Community Circles Connectors. The Regional Community Circle Connectors facilitate six-weekly community practices for Connectors to come together to share learning and problem solve together, and this forms a regional network of peer support.

At a national and regional level we develop relationships with: businesses with a strong commitment to corporate social responsibility; partner organisations working in the fields of health, social care, and housing in particular; universities and colleges; a variety of faith communities; as well as mainstream and special schools. Through these partnerships, we work in collaboration to source funding for Community Circle Connectors.

The Community Circles Connector is employed and hosted by a partner organisation. Community Circles provides the Connector with on-going support and a platform through which to share learning. It is the responsibility of the Community Circles Connector to identify people who could benefit from a circle, and support them to develop their own circle of support. The Connector recruits and trains voluntary Community Circles facilitators who facilitate each circle meeting and support each circle to achieve its individual purpose.
